What are some flowers native to southern United States (especially Alabama) that develop during the summer?

    I live in north florida and last year on a whim got some Crossandras to plant around my shepherds hook. I only got three plants but they grew like wildfire completely covering the area in about a month. They were beautiful!! They would probably work in Alabama, y’all aren’t that far away…
